FUNdamentals is delivered by Award Scheme Coaches. All FUNdamentals Award Scheme Coaches have a genuine interest in working with children and are usually experienced coaches, teachers or have completed a training workshop with British Gymnastics.All FUNdamentals Award Scheme Coaches will need to have completed an enhanced CRB check. British Gymnastics coaches will have the appropriate level of qualifications for delivering sessions to Pre-School children. Successful Award Scheme Coaches do not always have a gymnastics background, but are able to communicate with and enthuse young children and their parents. FUNdamentals is delivered - by British Gymnastics qualified coaches in Gymnastics Clubs - by British Gymnastics qualified coaches in Leisure Centres - by qualified teaching staff in schools and nurseries To get started you can purchase a FUNdamentals resource pack from British Gymnastics packed with movement ideas. The resource pack includes a comprehensive Activity Guide and detailed work cards illustrating a broad range of movement activities. You may also wish to purchase the FUNdamentals FUNkit bag packed with a variety of portable apparatus which supports the delivery of the programme. If you are interested in attending a FUNdamentals Award Scheme course details can be found on the British Gymnastics website www.british-gymnastics.org under Coaches. British Gymnastics recommends that non-affiliated groups using the programme ensure that they have policies & procedures in place for the protection and safety of children. All British Gymnastics coaches must have the appropriate coaching qualification when delivering in a Gymnastics Club. |
