Hi
If you want to look back at old topics, click on old forums at the bottom of the screen.

Don't know about Tash but I tried that and got this message
British Gymnastics Forum is currently closed:
New BG Forums at http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/
If you are a forum administrator, you may access the forums by logging in below:
There are boxes to sign in but when you try that it just reverts back to the above message.

Hi
Just spoken to IT and there seems to be a bit of a problem with it, which they are trying to resolve.

I can now read threads in the Old Forum (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/), but only in General Discussion (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/board.php?FID=2). Will the other forums be accessible? Also I know that know permissions mean that all we can do is read threads, but enabling us to use the Search (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/search.php) feature would be useful. Also, could a link be put up to this New Forum (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/)) as I still have a theory that many people don't access the forum from the main page, but go directly to the old forum from their favourites, and may not know there is a new forum.
Anita - you got the last ever post in the old forum ;)

I'll have a look to see how much I can read.
DJC - last on the old & first on the new (as a piece of history - I was also one of the first on the last forum 'cos I'd been a member of the forum before that :) ).
So far I prefer this forum as it's more user friendly, especially as we have a forum genius (known as DJC) guiding us.

Yeh i agree with that theory because that is what i did on the first day of the new forum i was waiting for ages until it was opened but then DJC referred me to this one :D

the forum before that :)There was a BG forum before the old one?

Yes, there was.
I've been trying to remember why they changed it - apart from the fact that it wasn't very user friendly.
If I recall correctly it had something to do with the type of posts that were appearing and moderation on it wasn't an easy job. I also think you could just join in without have to "become a member" - but I may be wrong (memory problem - it gets bad when I forget to take my HRT and the worse my memory gets the more I forget to take it! . Becomes a vicious circle ....)

I'm trying to think when I joined the old forum but I can't remember, and it won't let me check. I was quite late joining though I think, something like the 150th member maybe. I might have signed up in summer of 2003 but I really can't remember. I definitely wasn't registered with any forum before that.

I might have signed up in summer of 2003That was quite a good guess then. As for being the 150th member I think that's probably wrong as you joined nearly a year before me! I didn't think of checking posts :o

Can we still access the old forum to view old items ?????

Yes, at the bottom on the right there should be a link that says Old Forums (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/). It seems that only General Discussion (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/board.php?FID=2) is available to read though. I hope that the other forums will be available at some point.

I just beat you then, Anita - I joined on 22 May 2002 (the "new" forum was set up on 21 May) - never quite managed to keep up with your number of posts though!! I can't remember whether we had to register for the original forum but I do remember it being changed because of the type of posting that was going on. People were worried then that the "new" forum wouldn't be as user-friendly and that previous users wouldn't continue to use it but it seemed to survive pretty well! :D
