Our club want to draw up a proper Child Protection Policy (we could just quote the BGA one but it's very long .....): does anyone know of a club who has one that we could look at to ensure we cover everything? I'm sure I've seen one on a website but can't remember which one!

We are having to do this for our Youth Club and I am looking at the BGA one and how I have adapted that for the Gymnastics Club as well as other governing bodies. What I did find was this one page on the British Chearleading Assocation web site.

Thanks Vivien

We're puting together a club handbook - at the moment we've lots of information, policies etc but nothing together in one booklet with only one person! (the club have "moved" premises a few times but we don't have our own place so things tend to have been disseminated because we had nowhere to store paperwork).

I know how you feel. My small bedroom is now my office and I cannot believe the amount paper that I have in the filing cabinets and lying around on the floor. I will have to have another clear out I think.

We recently resurrected our handbook and brought it up to date. We are hoping to get some advertising for it so it can go to print for everyone in the club but we have it on our web site. Don't know how many people every refer to it there though and think it would be better to give it to them in paper form.

If you would like to see what we have done I could send you an electronic copy it might help with your ideas and there again, you might be able to suggest how we could make ours better.

Sorry I think out Web Master must have removed it and put it on the closed site that we have because I have just looked at the web and cannot find the handbook. If you want to have it sent contact me and I will send it across the ether.
