Just for you Gingerheid - a new thread :) .
Gym moments are good - but it doesn't have to be gym: if it's funny - post it!;)
My daughters will probably tell you that their most embarrassing "moment" is - me! :p And it's on-going ...... mainly because I tell lots of embarrassing tales about them and leave out all the stupid things I've done (and will still do no doubt). Hmmm wonder who they take after .......:o

Uh. I feel really bad being responsible for this thread, as I'd have had no intentions of posting in it otherwise, and wasn't going to start one off!
Most embarrassing gym moment probably trying to do a fs into the foam pit, but pinging off the trampoline flying forwards and perfectly horizontal, frantically swimming my arms and legs as if that would rotate me. (Seemed like I was hanging in the air for ages.) Came out the foam pit murmering something about that my arms and legs were trying to embarrass me, which didn't help.
Other than that, breaking a leg when I was only attempting that difficult high-tariffing move 'straight jump' (and needing two ambulancemen to get me out the foam pit); maybe not so much embarrassing as just a strange thing to manage to do! I did it almost immediately after Hogmany, so anybody that hadn't seen me in between just assumed it was the good old Scottish drink + Hogmany + a flight of stairs thing, especially when I tried to sell them the "You see I was doing this straight jump, and..." story. (I don't even drink, probably just as well:rolleyes:!)
Most embarrassing work moment resulted from having not taken any of the painkillers the hospital gave me, and not knowing their effects. Less than quarter of an hour after taking one at morning break I was giggling helplessly. I can remember thinking I had to stop giggling, and picking up a case and looking at it, but just giggling even more. Some cases can be funny, but this was a really boring deceased case; I knew it shouldn't have been funny.
My poor boss had to take me home in her car, me still giggling the whole way across Edinburgh, while jabbering that I know I shouldn't be giggling. When she left (nothing to do with me - honest!) this was one of the stories of her career she recounted...
Anita - anything in particular that your daughters find your mentioning embarrassing;) ? I.e. I remember fine well from before - hilarious, and can I post it incase anyone here hasn't seen it? Or is she allowed to forget now? (Wouldn't want to do that to someone without permission:))

Which one would that be? The daughter who rear-ended a police car or the one who got stuck to the carpet by her belly-bar?
My crazy work moment - I was about 16/17 in the days of the original mini-skirts (and mine was mini, believe me) and worked in an all-male office (Borough engineers & town planners). I'm made the tea for the drawing office and was carrying it down a flight of stairs which some pratt of a cleaner had polished to a nice shine (it was like walking on ice)! Needless to say I slipped - tray of 8 cups went flying downwards and I took two of the bannister risers out. So there I was, one leg stuck through the broken rails in my mini skirt which wasn't covering much any more .......:o

Just thought I`d post this one which happened last night in work. I was cycling across the chemical storage yard [petrochemical industry] when I saw this guy I knew, I thought I`d give him a friendly wavehttp://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon14.gif as you do only to find when I turned back there looming in front of me was the towing hitch of a tanker minus the cab.http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon13.gif In a split second I was resigned to the fact there was no way I could avoid it and only managed to get one hand up for protection.http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon11.gif In totally worthiness of you`ve been framed I was swiped off the bike into a very nice flapback whilste watching in amazement as the bike carried on with out its rider for another 10 feet before keeling over as well. http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gifSuprisingly I didn`t get much sympathy when I regaled the tale at home but there seem to be a lot of muffled chuckles into the cornflakes.
