I've just been sitting here reading through all the trampolining threads just to see what I've been missing!!!
I just thought I'd say how friendly everyone seems :)
It's really nice that everyone kind of knows each other as there aren't so many people ... But that does mean less convos :(
Well there have been LOADS of replies to my other thread, so lets hope this one or the next one - if I can think of something a bit more interesting - will get lots of replies too!!!
The only thing is I go on the net loads for a few days (but normally at stange hours when no-one else is on), and then I won't go on at all for a few days so I don't reply for a while!!!
I really am sorry that it kind of works out like this!!!
Wish more people were sad enough to be on here at 11:00pm to talk like me!!!
Lol!!!
Ah well!!!
Speak to you all soon!!!
Luv Kel!!!

Talking of people who are sad enough to be on the net at unearthly hours .... whoops:o ... better get to bed, work tomorrow:) !
PS - I think it looks like Trampolining is going to remain the most popular of the boards for the disciplines;)

I'm up and about at odd hours at the moment but hopefully not for much longer.
I think most people are just happy to chat about the sports they love with like minded people. I don't think anyone expects you to keep to a timetable so don't worry about it :D

I think it's great that the tramp part of the forum is now taking off - my daughter (KayJ) does both gym and tramp, she's got her G4 (U11) tramp in 2 weeks and she's just done a NW comp gym yesterday, so she's not been on the forum much the last few weeks 'cos between being back as school and working so hard at gym and tramp now she's not got any time left! I know she'll come back on soon and join in with you all again though, she's got more posts than me on here!

Funny - the old board seemed to have more WA/MA but now we've the trampolinists joining.
I was good at trampolining when I was at school - many many moons ago! Returned to my old school when my girls joined the club they're at now (in 1993!) and there were still holes in the gym ceiling that my trampolining friends and I had made (:o ): and I left school in 1971 after my GCE's.

Mostly punching it but we did manage a few kicks (I was a wild child!). Hmm now I know where my girls get it from ......
It wasn't a solid ceiling by the way - it was large "tiles" in metal grids (the only way I can explain it). They repaired the ceiling about 5-6 years ago just before our club left the school to move to a sports centre.

Hehehe!!!
The kicking ... at that height ... You must have had guts!!!
I don't even like looking up when i bounce (no matter what height!!!), which can prove difficult when we are all trying to touch the lights, but i can't actually see whether i'm directly underneath them or not!!!

Don't know about guts - just no sense ;) .
Been on an "I remember my school days" kick recently (met up with an old school friend after 32 years last year via Friends Reunited which started it).
One embarrassing confession I'd had to make was when I'd been nagging my girls about their exams, studying blah blah blah (like parents do) and they asked why I'd only taken CSE Maths instead of the GCE when it was my strongest subject - and I had to admit I'd been thrown out of the GCE class for misbehaving :o.
Another history lession - when I was at school we had GCE & CSE exams (CSE were considered "lower" than GCE and your grades rested on the final exams only. I managed the top CSE Maths grade - and I missed a paper through illness.

Only problem is my Mum was pretty much a good girl at school!!!
And Dad ... Well he doesn't actually remember all that much about his days in education!!!
Ah ... The good old days hey!!!

You want to be careful... that old 'can't remember' excuse No seriously we can`t remember!!http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gif Don`t forget your`e nearer your school days than some of us and we sometimes need a prompthttp://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon11.gif and sometimes we don`t want to remember.http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon9.gif

No seriously we can`t remember!!Really?
sometimes need a promptI'm translating this as "sometimes we will only admit it when conclusive evidence presented by a third party forces us to";)
and sometimes we don`t want to remember.Yeah. I will believe that!:D
So what were people's best moments at school?
I hadn't been to school much before, but my third year was going well, and they had gone to actually quite a lot of trouble to arrange for me to take certain exams a year or two years early. Until the day I turned up wearing (cue demonic, shocked, horror movie tone) non-black trousers.
From the look on the headmaster's face I don't think he ever did quite believe that I was standing there arguing with him. I calmly presented a reasoned explanation that the council's rule was that no school in the region was to have a school uniform, and that he was not in a position to overrule their authority. But he didn't stay calm. He just blew up, especially when I explained him that no it wasn't his school for him to make the rules in, it was the council's.
That was my last day at school ever - never regretted for a moment! (And I take great delight in that my very first job was in the ... Education Department:D)
Oh, and years before there was something about me climbing lamp a post straight outside a different headmaster's study, oblivious to him looking out the window laughing. Sometimes I can't remember much about that, but my mum reminds me about it from time to time...

I would normally agree that poeple conveniently 'forget' things, but in my Dad's case - well he is just senile!!!
I like the whole trouser thing too!!!
Certainly made me laugh!!!
Hehehe!!!

My youngest daughter had a form teacher who used to pick on her something chronic (although I admit Liz did have a tendency to attitude!). Once she was told she couldn't wear the shoes she had on to school - even though five others in her class had exactly the same ones. I let her wear trainers and sent a note to any teacher to stopped to her explain why - and said that, if they could find any other size eight black shoes, at a reasonable price, in the area I'd consider getting them!
She was stopped by her year head who's exact words were "God, it's hard enough buying size 7s!" His daughter was in the same year - and had the same shoes.

Told she couldn't wear them eh? At that stage (depending on the merits of the cleanliness of the floor in question), I'd have taken them off, or looked at my feet a bit puzzled and said it appeared I could.
But that's maybe why teachers never really seemed to like me much:p!

well there you go then! as I`m a dad I can use that excuse too!! I`ve also learnt that in some cases its in my interests to have selective hearing.lol!!http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gif

Sometimes i wonder if my Dad has selective hearing ... But no, i'm stuck on the fact he is senile!!!
Plus, i'm sure your child(ren) can tell when you're not being totally honest!!!
Just a thought ... do(es) you child(ren) do trampolining???
My coaches youngest daughter has just started the toddlers session!!!
She is only about 3!!!
Bless!!!
And going back to the whole shoe thing ... We've been told we're not even allowed kitten heels, because my school is an old building with all wooden floors in the entrance hall, hall and most of the classrooms, and the teachers don't want them getting damaged!!!
I just wish they would take a look at each others shoes ... !!!

my youngster is 8 today but we have decided to go with whatever she likes and not push down any particular avenue, at the minute she is interested in R.G. but continues to play at trampolining and as she is only eight theres no rush to increase any learning on the tramp and we just move her on as and when she wants or if she is getting bored! We've been told we're not even allowed kitten heels I would of thought that kittens on your heels would help polish the floor.lol!!!http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gif

I just wondered if she followed your interest that's all!!!
Like there is a small football streak in my family - Uncle almost made it professional (long story, and i'd make it go on forever, so we won't go there), and now my brother has a scout from Wolves coming to watch him soon :)
About the kitten heels lol ... if we're going to put it like that ... their claws would scratch the floors even more!!!
Just a note - incase you are like my Dad and haven't a clue what kitten heels are - they are very low heels, but still stilletos (or however you spell it!!!).
Luv Kel!!!
