Just reading and noticed that you train at Lilleshall and live in Newport!!!
Do you go to Park Wrekin by any chance?!?!
Just wondering because i used to train at Lilleshall and i live in Shropshire!!!

wowzers! never had my name as a title of a thread before! :P well I say name, most people woudl call me katie! hehe I used to go to park when i was very little then they reliased i wasn't very good and told me if i didnt get my act together on bars they didnt really want me anymore.... so i left as i thoguht that was a tad mean! Now I atten Newport gym club which is closer to where i live and i do team gym (as you might have guessed if you've read other threads!) and love it! S'all good! :D

It's a mean club isn't it!!!
Yeah i used to go there ... 3 years of my life revolved around gym!!!
I'm pleased i left though because it took over and by the end i didn't enjoy it anymore.
I don't really like coaches who tell 6 year olds they have to carry on training despite the fact they've fallen over and hurt their ankle.
Even if it turns out it's broken, and by carrying on training just so the 6 year old didn't get chucked out she's probably done herself more damage!!!

sorry i posted somethign a couple of days ago... or thoguth i had! only just noticed it hasnt worked! oops! well newho never seen my name as the titel for a thread before! :P we i say name most peopl might choose to call me katie no matter how much of a heffalump I am! anyway to the point, I used to go to park but they were a bit mean and told me if i didnt get good at bars i would be asked to leave, so i left of my own accord thinkin this wasa tad mean! So now I'm at Newport gym club doing team gym and loving every minute! (as you might6 have guessed from my other posts!)

Did you used to go to park? if so how long ago and who was your coach?!

I was thrown in at the deep end ...
My coach at my 'beginner' club, was actually also an elite coach at Wrekin - Julie.
She decided i would be better at Wrekin, and she wanted to carry on coaching me, so i went straight into her elite group!!!
Eeek!!!
I soon dropped down into Sue's group, where i was happy and stayed for a while.
Then Chris made me move up, and the other people from Sue's group, because we were passed intermediate and ready for elite.
Some of us didn't like our eilte coaches - i had Julie - and so we moved back to Sue.
A couple of new girls into Sue's group, and we soon made up her first elite group, and she refused to let us go to the other coaches.
We didn't want to move, so it was much better!!!
I had a lot to do with Igor :)
He's in most of my pictures from Lilleshall :)
Igor was always nice to me :)
I also had a Russian gymnast stay with me back in 1996!!!
Sue made sure i got the youngest one so that she was nearest my age!!!
I think it's the Russian girl (Julena) and Igor who inspired me to learn Russian!!!
Do you now Sam Fergusson-Cooper by any chance from school???

I didnt know off the top of my head who sam was but my b/f did! lol apparenlty im guan have him pointed out!
Igor was nice ot me mosta the time to be fair i used to take him a drink n chocolate every session! lol bribary! i had sue for a while, i only got chris for liek one session where she thoguht it would be fun to try to teach us all upstarts despite the fact we were all awful at bars! who else..... erm... arleen! i loved her she was ace!! lol and kelly, (sue's daughter) think that was about it thoguh! i only ever made it to improvers, i wasn't cool enough! hehe oooh actually im lying i used to go on a sunday with mike he was cool, learnt more there than anywhere else i think!

How could i forget Kelly!!!
Lol!!!
She used to grab me and take me off to do walk overs on beam!!!
I loved doing walk overs on floor or beam, yet hated forward rolls on beam!!!
Hehehe!!!
Also remember if we ever fell off and just lay on the mat for a split second, she'd (this sounds dodgy!!!) rub her hands on the mat really quickly to create friction, then give us a shock!!!
Lol, being only 6 it was scary!!!
Mike was kewl!!!
I never had him coach me, but my friend Christina did!!!

Yeah he's still there! He coaches the county squad too i think! I never got coached by him though! seems a nice enough fella mind let us nick their CD player last week! :p hehe

Considering how annoyed i flet when i had to leave i guess the club was nice enough despite the meaness n tears! hehe got resuklts out of those it needed to anyways! Newport is much friendlier though and i am much better suited to team gym! you would never have seen me in a squad comin 4th in the british champs in artistic thats for sure!! hehe

I'm just glad i pulled out of gym in time for me to have a life!!!
My friend Amy was at Park Wrekin, and in the GB squad and everything, and she quit gym like nearly a year ago, and now she doesn't really know what to do with herself!!!
Bless her!!!
But she's so used to being the best, that she can't stick at anything anymore, because there's always people more experienced etc
It's a shame, but i LOVE trampolining too much now to give it up!!!

miss bagshaw is this?! :P I was in her squad! i stress i was only with her for about a week lol she was shall we say.... slighlty better than me! :p hehe she wasn't bad.... turned her hand to ice skating did she not?
A couple of my friend at adams used to go to school with her i think! When we were little i remember everyone saying she was going to go to the olympics, shame she never got there! That many years gymnastics thoguh, takes its toll on a person!
You want to be careful with all that trampolining, i tae it if you knew amy you atleast knew of mel wolfe?! I wouldnt wish what happened to her on anybody, just don't go bailing things, get em round!
