:p Well as I was one of the only members to put up threads in this forum before it all changed, I thought I just had to put up the first thread now!! And now on a more serious matter...
Helen,
A little while ago you mentioned that my letter was being taken into the committee meeting. I still have not heard anything!! Originally I was told the meeting was on the 14th May... that was several weeks ago now. Can you help?!

Indeed... and i can't run after it very well myself :(
But it's really frustrating... I have a floor routine, with moves i can actually still do, but there is no way on earth i'll be able to compete with it. mainly because i can actually only do floor...
I still do my floor though, despite the fact I have people staring at me as though I'm some sort of freak incapable of being a gymnast.
They dont all have to be able to walk!! One day I will proove this to everyone :D

Erm not too well... I can move around alot better now (with a walking stick :( ) and still no answer about GMPD! Actually I came online to write another letter to them... It's been over three weeks now, I'm sure there must be an answer by now.

It's been over three weeks now
whooops, I mean three MONTHS. that is a very long time for the most impatient person in the world!
KayJ - Thanks for the support, I'll keep you posted about how I get along with them. I'm hoping my next comp. is in October.

Good luck for October then! I've got a gym comp in September and my G4 trampolining in October so I'm going to be doing a lot of training over the next few weeks. We'll have to let each other know how we've got on!

We sure will. Well I finally got round to writing the letter, its in an envelope, being posted first thing tomorrow, at last! Hopefully I will get a better response this time, in a shorter space of time!

 I had to go back to the other site to remind myself what the original question was.
Sian
12th September 2004, 01:29 PM
Erm original question... It had something to do with GMPD lol. I think I asked wheher I'd be able to compete in GMPD...
11 days after I write to the Chief Executive... still no answer. I'm going to ring someone on Monday. Five months since I first wrote a letter... It's ridiculous.

Yes Sian, any sign of a reply? Keep us posted won't you ...! Your comp is exactly 1 week after my daughter's G4 tramp and DMT - let us know how it goes!
Sian
19th September 2004, 10:11 PM
No reply... They are deffinately getting a phone call...
As for the competition... there was a muddle with the dates, it's the 3rd Oct. My coach missed the deadline for entering me, and anyone else. I'm not impressed at all, but he didn't read the letter until after the deadline. So chances are I won't be doing it, unless he can pull lots of strings, which is very doubtful. So lucky me gets to wait until the next floor and vault comp as I cant physically manage a full comp. :(

Oh no, I hope he can 'pull a few strings' as you put it ... having said that KayJ has just found out today that her DMT has been cancelled for 3rd Oct so she's only doing tramp G4 U11 now (only upside is I get £8.50 comp entry refund!!) She's gutted though, it was the first DMT she's been entered for and she's really worked hard for it! So I'm sure she knows how you must feel 'cos she really looks forward to comps when she's worked so hard for them, as I know you must have done too :(
Let us know when the next one is and what your routine is and your vault and stuff ;)

An up to date post... I have literally just rang now and supposedly it has all been dealt with?! However, it is going to be chased up, as I type, so hopefully I will have an answer very shortly!

BRILLIANT NEWS ALL ROUND!!
My coach pulled his strings, and has got me and a few other girls in the competition... no waiting until next summer for the next floor and vault.... WOOOO!
AND!
I will be getting my official reply for GMPD in the next day or so, but so far it is looking good!! I need to get together my medical letters...
:D

Three days until my competition now... I will let everyone know how I do :D
And another announcement... I have already made a brief comment on the other thread "Paralympics" by Jaye, but here is the official one!
I did ring up, and I've been accepted as a disabled gymnast. All that is required are official medical letters, but that is being done next week. I have also been invited to compete in this years Voluntary Championships, November 13th in Nottingham.
I shall let you know what I decide on that one! It's a big step, for someone who has spent the summer learning how to walk! But who knows. It'd be good to get the feeling of it all. I'll certainly go watch anyways!
But thats my news :D and hopefully all shall continue to go well!

GOOD LUCK :D

Results from the competition I did on Sunday!
Well it certainly wasn't what I expected...
- Friday night my floor music had to be changed as it was too long.
- Saturday I made up my new routine
- And Sunday... Sunday I prepared myself to compete with a floor routine I hadn't yet done on a floor. Now that certainly was an experience! I had prepared myself for all problems I might face, such as what i might do if the music didn't fit to the routine... but I didn't expect to forget it all! My mind blanked after the first few moves... and as for the rest... I made it up as I went along! Was a challenge in itself! As for vault... I jarred my knees on my last practise and lost my nerve...
Came 4th overall!
