Did you want some help with the forum? As in Forum Help (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/forumdisplay.php?f=16)? Anyway, I'm not entirely sure what you mean, as I'm having trouble deciphering your post. E.g. as im having to refresh my screen manually to on every page in thr forum - whatever that means... I don't think there is a problem with the forum. You should have to refresh the page manually to see the latest updates, the page doesn't refresh itself. There is no need to delete your cookies and temporary internet files either. Just refreshing the page, or clicking on a link will update the page for you. You can also click on New Posts (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/search.php?do=getnew) to see all the new posts since you last looked.

Manually refresh means pressing "F5" or the refresh button within Internet explorer......
I never had to do this up untill today ! the forum refreshed itself and all the lastest posts and updtaes appeared without me having to press F5 or the refresh button.... It just seems strange that every page i visit in the forum is never updated and that i have to refresh it myself....
This is where it gets confusing so read carefully
for example when i added to the thread " New Forum " in the general discussion area after adding my post and going back to view all the threads in the " General Discussion " area it still showed the previous user b4 me who updated it until i pressed F5 to refresh, after pressing F5 it would show that i was the latest to update that thread, Now when i went to the page where i can View all available forums it still showed the previous user b4 me as the last person who updated the thread, again i had to press F5 to refresh this
Hope this is clear as its difficult to explain, it would be easier explaining this over the phone....

Manually refresh means pressing "F5" or the refresh button within Internet explorer...... It does?! :rolleyes:going back to view all the threads in the " General Discussion " area it still showed the previous user b4 me who updated it until i pressed F5 to refresh, after pressing F5 it would show that i was the latest to update that threadThis could be where the problem is. When you say 'going back' do you mean pressing the 'Back' button in IE? If so then this can display the last page downloaded without updating it. Pressing refresh will update it. Clicking on a link rather than using the forward and back buttons however, usually updates the page instead. So clicking British Gymnastics Member Forums (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/index.php?) at the top of the page rather than going back to the front page should update it. There are ways around this though.
In IE, click 'Tools' -> 'Internet Options'.
On the first tab ('General'), click on 'Settings' under the title 'Temporary Internet Files'.
Select the option to 'Check for newer versions of stored pages': 'Every visit to the page'.
Also, on the forum, rather than checking the index page (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/index.php?) for updates, you can click on New Posts (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/search.php?do=getnew) near the top in the blue bar. This will show you all new posts since your last visit.

Maybe it was your computer rather than the forum - I had problems yesterday afternoon but think it was either my computer or the network at work (forever "going down" or playing up!!!)

Maybe but i don't thinks so as i signed on from another computer within our network and got the same sort of problems,to rule out the possibility of it being anything in our proxy servers or firewalls i also signed on from another PC thats not in our network but is in the DMZ and i got the same problems...

In IE, click 'Tools' -> 'Internet Options'.
On the first tab ('General'), click on 'Settings' under the title 'Temporary Internet Files'.
Select the option to 'Check for newer versions of stored pages': 'Every visit to the page'.I have this option turned on now anyway, as it's useful for things like forums where pages are often updated. Glad it's all OK :)
