Have any of you coaches got any tips on rig work, I'm alright with fixed grip stuff but was really struggling with codys! I'm hoping it will click into place but any advice is very welcome.

Hi Lucy, fixed grip is quite hard with body landings you need to start working the hand over hand method its a bit tricky but on some coach courses you would be expected to be able to do this method. In the short term you could get away with getting the person to lie in the front drop position before they start jumping so you can account for the extra rope needed.
This means they would be jumping with extra slack in the rope, easier with little people as they dont depress? the bed as much but as I said you will have to move on to the other method sooner or later. Hope this helps, cheers Pete.

that's the term I couldn't think of....hand over hand, I was really struggling with it. I just didn't seem to be able to get it right...I kept letting go at the wrong time so my unfortunate victim didn't have a chance of getting round before I'd taken the strain again. I'm hoping it's just a case of practice!

just a thought it might be a good idea to practice with your "victims" some moves they are confident with i.e. back drops/front drops that way you will have the opportunity to get to grips with the extra rope you have to haul in/let out.
