I think this forum is going quiet again ... I can't let that happen!!!
So here is a new topic, I want to know what you think.
Ok, here goes:
I'm just 15, been trampolining for 2.5 years, and I did my first Grade 4 a few weeks ago.
I would have done Grade 4 much sooner but lost baranis and spent 18 months trying to get them back.
In that time I learned lots of other moves, so that I didn't get bored and had something to take my mind off not achieveing what i wanted to.
Around 6 weeks before the comp I did pike baranis.
4 weeks ago I progressed my crash dive ballouts to barani ballouts tucked, but only did them for one session.
3 weeks ago I learned tuck baranis.
2 weeks ago I learned straight baranis.
I can crash dive and ballout; lazy back and cody; and I've been learning fulls on and off - but there is only one of my coaches I will let catch me that's why I don't do them so often.
At the moment I'm spending a couple of weekends as a guinea-pig for 2 of my coaches doing there cc course.
The one is excellent with the rig, and said she will do double backs with me in the rig once she is qualified.
I also really want to do 1n3s, and she seemed kewl with that too.
I personally think I am ready, as I am more of a rotater than a twister and just find doing doubles (only done double backs in the rig so far) generally more comfortable than fulls.
I could do things like ballouts and codys at Grade 5, but was still struggling with a simple barani!!!
Just wondered what other people think - whether you think it's totally mad no matter what the circumstances because I am still only Grade 4, or whether you think it's ok?!?!
Luv Kel!!!

***I know she won't be qualified for those things, but there is another coach who is, and the rule is you can teach moves the level above if there is someone else who is qualified at that level!!! Don't worry as far as coaching and insurance goes it's all kosher, so no questions about that are needed lol!!!

Trampoling must be different to acro & tumbling because with these you can't teach one level above your qualification, even if there is a more senior coach present - you have to have completed the course first and then only teach it with the mentor present during the post-course period prior to your exam. Obviously if the mentor (more senior coach) is also at your gym then there's no problem: clubs that come "unstuck" are those that don't have anyone more senior present - they have to travel to their mentor's club or their mentor travel to theirs.

Lol i think its totally fine Kelly. I'm very much like you. I'm only grade 4 having come on the grades circuit late (at 19). But i can currently do fulls, 1 3/4 front, Crash dive barani balll out. Whilst learning double and rudi. My coach at uni is talking about me having a 10 somersault routine by christmas (scary!). If your coach feels you are ready to do the moves and are qualified to coach it then go with the flow.

Plus i'm more of a rotator than twister, but i've just about got the hang of twisting- have put my fulls on the bed:)

I can't see anything wrong with that, I had problems with bbos for a while but seem to have them now. I think everyone has a move/moves out there they have trouble with. Mine at the moment are codys and rudis, I bottle out of codys when they would have gone really well (landed on my head years ago and have never forgotten it) and can't get the extra twist in to get a rudi, yet I can manage a full onto the bed (ok it's far from perfect but I'm working on it). I think it's always good to be working on something new to keep your enthusiasm going.
