Just like most clubs, we always need more money to pay for coaching courses and everything.
We don't have any comp beds, and we would all really like a new bed!!!
Every year we do a 24hr bounce, and the club gets promised lots of money, but not all of it is actually given in.
What they do collect just goes into the pot to keep the club running.
There is also the halloween party and presentation that raises money too, but this again goes into the pot.
And there is a bag-packing day at ASDA for the club in December.
But me and my friend really want to raise some money at the club that could go separately towards a new bed.
These are the ideas I have so far:
*a display where people have to pay for there tickets to watch and then pay to have a bounce at the end if they want to
*taking the trampolines to the local shopping centre
*fancy dress trampolining
*a fun day outside in the summer
*sponsor the coaches to compete (trust me that would raise hell loads, but the ones who would get the most money just thought i was joking when i suggested it)
*host a comp just for our club where we all have to pay to enter
We are both going to ask if we can organise a display at the club, and have an account just for a new bed, but it's going to take a lot more than just one display to raise enough.
All the ideas we have just aren't 'big' enough.
At my old gym club they used to have a really posh Christmas do just for adults, and the parents of the gymnasts took their friends and parents and things.
Tickets were expensive but the evening was lovely and everyone always looked forward to it the next year.
This obviously took a lot of time, organising and money, but raised a few thousand pounds apparently.
Of course I never went and I didn't really know much about it, but my Mum was telling me the other night when I was saying about us wanting to raise money.
Is there actually anything in the world you can do that doens't take too much time to organise but will raise lots of money, because i doubt our coaches have time to organise a thing like that.

For something specific like a competition bed you might be able to get an award or sponsorship. Find out exactly how much it will cost and then try all the different applications for awards that you can find - like Awards for All, local councils, some businesses (in our area, Nottingham Building Society does (or used to do) an awards scheme). If you know how much money you need it might also be something you could persuade a local company to help with by sponsoring you - ask everyone you know if they can think of possible companies and write lots of letters!

Ok that sounds good, but is it quite hard to get sponsorship and everything?
It's worth a try though.
What about trying to get donations of different local companies?!?!
Is that allowed?!?!
Do you know any other companies that do awards schemes, and what kind of things do you have to do?!?!
Thanks very much!!!

We went to our local council who helped and guided us in applying for various grants from different places and they even provided us with the application forms. I don't know how much a comp bed costs but you can get up to £5000 from Awards for All: our club have had an award two years' running from them for a full floor area last year and an air track this year. There are forms to fill out and information to provide, such as a club constitution but don't be put off. If your local council is like ours then they'll be very helpful in starting you off on the right road.

Good luck.

New trampolines cost about £3000 i think- we're looking into getting a new bed as one of our trampolines is getting condemed at christmas. Apparently tho they buy new beds for national finals or one of the major competitions, then sell them all on at a slightly reduced price.

You can bet there is a waiting list for them!

I think one of our beds came from the dome but we really need another one as well now as we've got 1 12mm 1 6mm and 1 6x4mm and everyone wants to be on the 6x4. If you were to do a few of the things you've thought of and put the funds raised into a seperate account you'd probably get there in the end...the local shopping centre might be good coming up to christmas but you would need to check your insurance, if you're going to let people have a go, to make sure you're covered. Good luck
