Apparently Milano do them and they are OK, but I don't know how much they are.

My fav is Helen Mitchell Trampoline Supplies, I'm sitting on a coach on the way home, but I can try and find the e-mail with her dets and PM them to you when I get back on Sun. Alternatively, they used to be on www.trampoline.co.uk .

There are 2 trampoline shoes I can see on the Milano Website (http://www.milano-pro-sport.com/). They are both made by IWA (http://www.iwa-gymnastics.de/index.php?spr=en).
508 (http://www.milano-pro-sport.com/shop/proddets.asp?ID=295&pg=3)
250 (http://www.milano-pro-sport.com/shop/proddets.asp?ID=296&pg=3)

Edit: Here's the link to the IWA trampolining shoes section (http://www.iwa-gymnastics.de/schuhe/schuhe.php?p=trampolin).

What si everyones opinion on shoes. I tried some years ago but didn't get on at the time (but then I wasn't buying my own socks then!) would anybody recommend a brand?

The ones i have just recently got from Carita house seemed really thin, as if your toes would go through them straight away, and didnt seem very well made. I am going to try and order the ones off the IWA site, this is the link http://www.iwa-gymnastics.de/schuhe/schuhe.php?p=trampolin , and i am going to try the second ones down in the list, as they look well made.

I've just realised, I'd thought I'd posted on this thread to say that the shoes from the comapny I'd mentioned were the thin ones, like Carita. But just looked at the thread again after being on welcome to - obviously I didn't!

Whoops :o

Hi,

Well i have finally just got round to ordering some more Trampolining shoes, the ones that "DJC" mentioned earlier. They are the ones in the following link, the "508" ones at the bottom of the list. Here is the link.. http://www.iwa-gymnastics.de/shop/shop.php?p=trampolin . You might have to register to join to view them though! I think they look smart and strong, just hope they are when they arrive!
:D

Awww that's a shame :(
Don't they accept debit cards?!?!
What is the worlds obsession with credit cards?!?!
I think Carita House do trampoline shoes, and they have a range of different types.
I may be wrong, it could be another company.
I'll just have a look through the sites i have stored in my 'favourites' and get back to you in a minute!!!

Hi,
I have managed to get my trampolining shoes from IWA, the ones i described in the above thread. They are brilliant quality, and i am really pleased with them. Id recommend them! They are reinforced toe and heel, and really strong and light. A good buy :D

That's really good to hear Ceri!!!
What are they like for size though???
The last ones i bought from Milano were the cheap IWA ones, and they were really big!!!
Would you say go for the bigger or smaller size?!?!

Ceri
19th January 2005, 12:41 PM
Hi,

Id say go for the same size as you are in trainers, thats what i did and they fit perfectly, tight to my feet but not squashing them. These are made from suede. Looks like they will last a long tme! Are you thinking of getting some?

Kelly Jordan

I might do - it's worth knowing for future anyway.
I used to wear shoes, but then decided i didn't like the look of them unless they fit perfectly because they made my tootsies look odd!!!
Sometimes my heels get really bad, but i just wear loads of socks, they were so bad at one point before Christmas though that i ended up wearing 8 pairs of socks and trampolining shoes - very funny!!!
Anyway thanks for letting me know - i will bear that in mind :)

Ceri

Eight pairs of socks all at once??!! Wow! Bet you ended up looking like you had moon boots on!

Kelly Jordan

Yep!!! That sounds about right!!! I couldn't feel my feet very well after a little while lol!!!

Just noticed how many hits this thread has had, there must be an awful lot of people out there who are dissatisfied with their shoes or struggling to get some.
I wonder if manufacturers of shoes/leotards etc.. get a surge in buyers/enquiries due to recommendation from forums!!

Kelly Jordan
30th January 2005, 05:21 PM
Hey Jasmine!!!
Yep nutter is my middle name!!! :D
Been practising the new routine, but nearly fall off everytime doing the pike barani!!!
I watched the routine on my camera, and i was really suprised to see my pike back was really nice and lined-out at 12, with the landing just right, but then i throw the barani down :(
Ahhh well i quite like the routine, and i can see exactly where i need to focus most (pretty much all of it!!!), so hopefully get it quite good for the next comp!!!
Are you deffinitely doing the next one?!?!
Luv Kel!!!
-x-X-x-

P.S. Pity we didn't get much of a chance to talk at the comp!!!

peter edge
30th January 2005, 07:35 PM
Hi Kelly, are you lifting your arms a little early out of your pike back[line out]?
Also try P/back, P/front so you get use to standing up into the forward move, then when its standing up more then replace with the barani.http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Kelly Jordan
30th January 2005, 11:26 PM
I'm not too sure about my arms - today one my coaches told me i was sometimes swinging them round forward once or twice before the somersault, so i was trying not to do that, but i didn't think to hold them in for longer - i'll try that tomorrow thanks Pete!!!
And yeah i've done pike back, pike front - Andi's 'punishment' for me not doing pike back, pike barani properly!!!
Funny but a nasty combination to do - especially at a bit of a height (anything higher than feet touching the bed!!!) ...
Thanks for you help Pete!!! :)

Yes i am definately doing the next comp I've done a lot more work on fulls and started learning rudi on Tuesday it feels so much easier so I could have that before i have the full. Andi makes me laugh went to the west midlands squad session and I really liked his coaching style but i didn't really have him coaching me if that makes sense. Had a go at DMT I would recommend it, had such a laugh but I was totally rubbish at it only managed a tuck front off it hehe....... Kath liked it thou, you do know her don't you.

Thats ok that you didn't get to speak to me much I felt a total dork, glad i didn't have to wear my jacket all day, think i only wore it home that place was boiling. I have been told that I have to start working my routine in 5 wks that seems so early to me hahaha good luck with yours. Jo doesn't trampoline anymore so you wont be competiting against her.

Kelly Jordan
6th February 2005, 11:22 PM
Kewl!!! :D That's all good to hear Jasmine!!!
Yeah Andi is a really kewl coach!!!
West Mids squad sessions sound fun hehehe!!!
I would have loved DMT when i was a gymnast and young - might be a bit scared now of landing - too many weak points in legs hehehe!!!
Sarah was telling me she tried half out dismount!!!
The landings on that sounded funny - don't know if you saw!!!
And yeah i do know Kath :D

We should be on at similar times at the next comp shouldn't we???
I'll be able to come and spot for you :D
How come Jo doesn't do trampo anymore?!?!
I was looking forward to competing against her!!!
Hehehe!!!
I always like a challenge!!!
5 weeks ... It's not really that long until the next comp if you think about it!!!
Well it's not for me because i'm away next week, and missing sessions for different reasons and stuff :S
I want more time to practice!!!
Well good luck :D

you all must be bouncing very very high to need eight pairs of socks. i am at grade 2 and have hit the baskteball net in our gym when bouncing and i can manage with three pairs and my feet don't hurt then!!!

Steve Adamson
7th February 2005, 04:59 PM
lol...skis and ski boots are the way to go if want to save your socks...

Elliot
7th February 2005, 05:04 PM
yeah but skiing kills ur heels and ankles. it would be a bit hard to bounce in ski boots and skis on the tramp anyay!!!

Steve Adamson
7th February 2005, 05:14 PM
skiing shouldn't be hurting your heels and ankles, you can bounce quite effectivly on a trampoline with skis on, it's hard work though...

Jasmine Lee
7th February 2005, 10:42 PM
isn't it awkward to get on the trampoline with skiis on in the first place? I couldn't do it I would fall off.

Elliot
8th February 2005, 10:17 AM
oh well - whenever i have been skiing on the dry slopes i have always come off with sore heels - must be my technique!!!

Elliot
8th February 2005, 10:19 AM
i'm guessing that you would need to put the skis and ski boots on after getting on the trampoline!!

Steve Adamson
8th February 2005, 01:14 PM
It isn't difficult to get onto the tramp with ski boots on, you put your skis on once you are on. The only thing to watch for is the ski brakes sticking through the bed when you are putting them on.

Elliot, if you are getting sore heels it could be your boots not fitting correctly, they shouldn't be uncomfortable. If the boots are ok you are probably leaning back too much, next time you are skiing think about keeping your weight on the balls of your feet.

This is one of the guys from Glasgow Uni at my house last Sunday, his second session on a tramp with a snowboard. He is trying to stretch into a new shape so he can do it off a jump, the main benefit of working on the trampoline like this is that you can repeat the shape you are working on every bounce, rather than once for each time off a jump.
the tramp is a eurotramp grand master exclusive 6x6 bed with continental frame pads

that looks like real good fun i have to say. i will have to get my coach to let us try it!!!

Steve Adamson
8th February 2005, 04:46 PM
The only real problem is increased wear of the bed, so you have to make sure that ski and board edges are taped up or fairly blunt. There are some other considerations, such as spotting. eg. spotters need to be aware of things like skis coming off and stand back a bit more than normal.
The other thing for you to consider is that tramp coaches are not normaly going to have the ski knowledge to see what people are trying to achieve, so there needs to be a certain level of adaptability from the coach to provide a constructive session rather than a jolly.

Elliot

still sound like fun though - i might take the wheels off my skateboard and have a go at that in training on friday.

Steve Adamson
8th February 2005, 05:41 PM
Just be carefull, remember that there is actually a serious reason for training with skis and boards it's not just a mess about and needs a bit of specialist knowledge. It can be difficult to control a skateboard, as it isn't attached to your feet. A missed landing could result in ankle or knee injurys or it could fly off and hit someone else.
Skateboards are something I am not keen on using on a trampoline, although it can be done. I occasionaly get people asking about BMX bikes... NO.
I think I saw you post as a grade 2 bouncer, don't jepordise your competitons by messing about. Did you have a look at the links I put on the "call to retiring gymnasts" post? You might find them interesting.
