I don't think there really is anyone who does sports aerobics here anymore! but if there is, any chance of some kinda guide as to the cost of competing. My coach wants me to do the Alex Strachen, Welsh Open and British Championships and I'm currently trying to convince my parents to allow me to compete. I will be paying for everything myself so would really appreciate some kinda guide as far as trainers, entry fees, hotels (do i need to go to both days of all of them?) and all that. Any replies will be greatfully recieved! Thanks, Pinxi x

Hi there Laura

Im still here - glad to see a post!:)
The 3 comps you mentioned are the main ones in the year - the ones that you need to average the scores for to see if you can move up to FIG, or get a chance of being tested for national squad if you are already FIG.
If you are competing in NAC you will only go on one day, and FIG is 2 days for the British, I'm not sure for the other 2 as my daughter wasnt FIG last year(but is now - so I better find out!).

Costs - well - trainers - any normal white trainers are fine -what you normally train in ?(not thin sole ones) ; we use the Reebok freestyle boots. You need white sports socks with no logos on them, dance tights (£10 ish), leotard. Entry fees as far as I remember about £15 but more for British. Hotels - we usually stay in Travel Inn type places - around £50 for a nights b+b - but it varies.Dont forget travel costs too, and food etc while you're there, and those tempting leotard stalls!

What is your club and age group? I wish you luck persuading your parents, and will look out for you on stage !!!

thanks for the reply jacquie!

i will be competing in NAC, so if i'm only gonna be on one day I could always forget about the hotel and jus do it all in one day, be it a very long one!

we train in the gym, so never had any trainers for it!

Good Luck to your daughter, and maybe see you there!
