Well done to everyone who competed on Saturday at Cocks Moors!!!
And well done to everyone who did the gradings in their region on Sunday!!!
Let us know how you all got on!!!
Hehehe i was the last person on of the whole comp to compete lol!!!
Last time we had to wait for the last people to finish before they did the presentation, but this time they had the presentation just before we did finals, so there were only 10 of us left competing, while they started putting trampolines away!!!
At least half of Telford Phoenix stayed to support and cheer for me lol!!!
Great team spirit :D
Enjoyed the day though - it was great to see everyone!!!
Luv Kel!!!

Congratulations Kelly!
I read on Welcome to Trampolining that you won your Grade and qualified - so double well done!!
Me and my 2 children were hoping to go to Birkenhead but it ended up being only grade 3 and 4 (your grade 7 - 3 must have been busy!) and they would have been grade 5 - but hopefully next time...
Will you move up to grade 2 soon?
We have a girl in our club who one coach thinks should move to grade 2, but another thinks shouldnt as she hasnt got the tariff to have a good go at a place - what is your view about this type of thing?
She always qualifies(ever since she started at G5), has terrific form, and usually gets a place. :D

Thanks Jacquie!!!
Real shame the comp was 4-3 in your region :(
How often do grade 6-5 get to compete?
Everyone in west mids gets 4 comps a year and 7-3 are all always together!!!
Sounds a bit unfair if not everyone gets the same :(
And moving up to grade 2 ... Well i've only just made grade 3!!!
Lol!!!
I can't do a grade 2 routine yet at all, but i really would like to!!!
Grade 2 has been my aim since i started trampolining (i didn't know what was beyond!!!).
I'm training at 2 clubs now though, and the new 1 has lots of grade 2s and i love watching them all!!!
At the moment i can do some of the individual moves, but i need to learn to link them together properly.
I'm in the process of learning fulls (a requirement for grade 2 in my old age of 15!!!) and they're really fun!!!
I was picking them up quite quickly until i threw my head back on one and it almost ended up in the springs lol!!!
Haven't done any since, been working on my straight back instead hehehe!!!
Going back to people moving up and on ... I think if someone is doing consistently very well where they are, then they are ready to move on.
However if they can not fulfill requirements to move on, then i guess it needs to be looked into why - sometimes people just need to be left to move on in their own time, while others need a little bit of a push and encouragement.
I spent ages at grade 5 because i couldn't do a barani (needed for grade 4), but now i can do it (after being given lots of help but also time to build up my own confidence), i'm moving on quite quickly!!!
I think if someone can do the moves, give them the chance to continue forward - one lad from my one club qualified for grade 3 at the last competition but the coaches wouldn't let him move up because some of the other lads were doing much higher tariffs etc.
I look at the fact that if you can do what is required, then move up when you get the chance, and improve from there, rather than being held back and then having to work and improve on a lower level that you know you can already do - that would really knock my confidence if i was to be held back.
I think i've kind of lost the plot now, and i'm not making much sense, so i'll probably end up keep adding more posts until i get it all out of my system hehehe!!!
Good luck to your children when their comp comes around :)
Let us know when it is!!!
Luv Kel!!!

The West Midlands was a split comp Kelly, we had the Grade 3-4 as a qualifying comp and then grades 5,6,7 didn't you notice you were bouncing on the qual panel.... hehe I only know cos i was the one who stuck the signs up. It has changed to keep in line with the new rules( you know the membership changes) Hopefully it will stay like that but many regions don't do the g7 which I think many people need, just to get more experience. Its fine if you are ready to start at g5 or even g4, but personally I like to start competitors at g7 so they can get the experience of a competiton with no somersaults to improve performance and adjust to the changes in difficulty.

Oh yeah, i'd forgotten about that!!!
Hehehe we weren't on Panel 1 lol but the 'qualifying panel' - i didn't notice at the time, but my friend told me about it afterwards!!!
I think it's nice to have Grade 7, but i think quite a lot of people go straight in at Grade 6!!!
They are quite similar though!!!
