We are a gen. gym club, we only have recreational gymnasts, but to give them something different to do, we try to do floor routines. the leisure centre has for the first time given us a contract to sign, and one of the points is we can't play music. How do other clubs work this, would we have to pay for a music licence?Or is there another way round this??

If you are a BGA Registered Gymnastics Club the playing of music for Floor Routines or Warm Up is already paid by you in conjunction with your BGA Membership Fees. BGA has a licence for its clubs, this licence money is paid to the PPL & MCPS for all copyrighted material being copied or played in public.

Hope this helps you, go back to the Leisure Centre/Sports Centre and tell them this. Do not sign anything! You are covered already.

Is it because it would disturb other users at the sports centre rather than being a licencing issue?

We used to have a stereo playing on occasion but were asked to stop as someone else complained

No its only us and trampolining in the hall at that time, and they're cool about it, as I asked the coach first. As BG pay ppl, I hope now everything will be ok.
