I had to choose between men's and women's to put this in so I put it in men's cos I think it is more common in men's disciplines. What do people think about the growing number of apparatus specialists? Particularly as they are lobbying for a change in olympic rules to allow more single-apparatus qualifiers. It is very exciting to see a master at work (World Cup on P/Bars) but I am also attached to the all-around tradition, though this is possibly just due to tradition. After all, in other sports, say athletics, people compete in 100m and 200m sprints as 2 totally seperate events regardless of both being the same skill, and if they choose to do an all-around event they can choose decathlons or heptathlons.
What do you think?
