Is there a written definition anywhere on what constitutes:
a) A gymnastic element and
b) An acrobatic element ?
I have had numerous examples of one or the other told to me, but I wondered if there was a 'definitive' text on the topic.

OK. I'm assuming from the lack of replies that nobody knows of a particular text that defines a gymnastic or an acrobatic element. Is there a general consensus on what they are?
What do people think constitutes:
a) A gymnastic element; and
b) An acrobatic element?

Forgive me for such a tardy response!
My simplistic view on this when explaining the difference to coaches, judges and gymnasts alike is this:
Gymnastic Element is now known as a Dance Element and is a skill/move where the head remains upright - jumps, leaps, spins etc.
Acrobatic Element is a skill/move where the head goes upside down - cartwheels, flics, somis/saltos etc.
I hope this helps!
Deanna.
