What makes Arabians Arabians?

You hear terminology and sort of take it for granted. I know what an Arabian looks like, but which element of the moves is it that makes it Arabian rather than regular?

I dont know if Im telling you what you wanted but an arabian is a 1/2 turn into a somi whereas and regular backwards twisting somi would set up into the somi first and then twist.

Yeh, Angela has it pretty much covered... But what i'd like to know is where did the same Arabian come from? I doubt it was the name of the person who performed it first! Might be cool to see where is came from. If anyone knows. ;)
