I have been asked to coach a gym class at a leisure centre. It will only be a gen/recrearional class for an hour a week. But the club or the gymnasts are not BG registered, they are insured by the leisure centre as"any child coming in to do a sport" Will this or does this affect me in anyway as a BG registered club coach?

Don't quote me on this but I asked a similar question some time ago and the answer was that you can only coach the general moves that the children would be doing under a qualification that is suitable for the class, for example the foundation coaching license - you can't just coach whatever you are qualified to coach. The insurance has changed since then so I hope someone has some more up to date info.

Also, they answered about the children being insured but what about your protection?

When I was in this situation I was told that I was ok as long as I had my BG insurance (which I had to pay for myself!).
