What does everyone think of the idea of the new tariff?

Do you think it will create a higher class of gymnast or do you think it will lead to gymnastics losing the artistry in favour of 'wowing' the crowd.

Do you believe this would have come about if the fiasco at Athens had not happened?

I like the idea of everyone being on an equal footing with 10 being the maximum but am unsure of the ins and outs of the proposed new code - what moves would be worth what etc?

It would have happened regardless of Athens IMO.

I think it will split up gymnasts more. Those who really go for the huge moves with the large tariff, who either make it and score greatly, or don't and miss out completely. And those who perform clean routines. It does enable 'ZOMG WORLD RECORD!1!!' attempts, which TV loves. It also means that Super E isn't the limit, Z is :D

As I understood it, G is the highest tariff.... at the mo anyway

What I meant by the value of moves, if a super E will be an F, what would be a G!?

True, but the code could be easily extendable. Future-proof if you like. Aitch could easily be added if necessary.

G could be current Super-E + 0.4 bonus (triple back on floor for instance,) or other Super-Es that really deserve higher value, and that nobody does (back maltese on rings.)
