Hi does anyone know of any adult sessions in the West Midlands (preferably Coventry area). 1 of the adults I teach would like to do more than 1 hour a week but currently the leisure centre does not offer the facility to do so.

Any help/information would be greatly appreciated so I can pass it on to her

Thank-you

When I was thinking about moving to the area I only found Birmingham and Rugby advertised.

Thanks I'll pass it on, I teach the adults in Rugby but it only runs for 1 hour a week. The problem is popularity varies so the leisure centre want to run another class for people waiting not existing adults, but if popularity decreases they will cancel just like that.

Its an open session so whenever you want to turn up thats fine but when it is busy the regulars hae to wait longer and I feel guilty but if I run another session then it gets cancelled I feel messed around. The price also puts some people off aswell but I cant influence the prices the leisure centre charges, groan.

Hey Jasmine!!!
Just an idea as you were looking preferably in Coventry area ... Which club trains at the AT7 Centre in Coventry???
I don't know if they do adult sessions, but it might be worth looking into???
Hope that helps!!!

Also appears to be http://www.altairtrampoline.com/pages/training.htm in North Solihull

Dunno if the list here is up to date: http://www.wmgymnastics.org.uk/CLUBS/Wmclubs.htm

Hope your classes go well - there can never ever be enough adult trampolining around!

Edit after seeing Kelly's post - http://www.centralgalaxy.co.uk/cg1024.html seem to be the club at the AT7 centre. It looks like there's been a club called AT7 City of Coventry in the past, but none of the links for it work - I take it they changed their name?

Sort of they used to be the AT7 centre then they merged with Chelmsley woods club think it was called Chelmsley stars. They then called themselves Central Galaxy and trained in Coventry at the AT7 centre and North Solihull leisure centre ( apologises if I have the name wrong!)

Then the club de-merged and the Coventry based bouncers kept the name and the Chelmsley based ones changed to Altair. Altair may do adult trampolining but they are not based in Coventry, so it's too far for the lady who asked. Apparently Central Galaxy do not run adult trampolining (I was told this by the lady who wants to do extra she had already tried)

so I wondered if any Central Galaxy bouncers could tell me if this was true or if there are any plans to introduce adult trampolining at a non-competitive level. I know they have adults competitively because I still compete and see a few in over 18 categories but I am guessing they are squad like our over 18 bouncers. Currently the trampolininst who wondered isn't at competition standard yet and has not expressed any interest in competing think it is for general fitness and interest.

Thanks again if anyone has any information

Hope she finds something... there ought to be a rule guaranteeing lots of adult trampolining everywhere!

I agree. The leisure centre is now introducing a new policy that will drive my trampolinist out of the door! They are having to pre pay and pre book so they are asking for £8.20 in advance, and if they miss one week they lose the money unless they call 24 hrs prior to the class and transfer onto the next week. If they can't make the following week they cannot book for two weeks ahead and then lose that money!. It used to be a casual class which worked well for the adults I teach because many of them work night shifts or have other commitment.

We have to pay termly in advance - that was 14 weeks for this summer term! (and most of the classes are still full).

It is also amazing how many people pay for a full term and then only turn up for one or two sessions and then give up.

I wouldn't like paying for terms in advance, even though in reality I'll move heaven and earth to attend every single session I possibly can and miss very few. Might not have started back again if I'd had to - was very unsure about whether tramp was a good idea or not at first.

hehe yeah a lot of adult members have said that to me, this new system will put off total newcomers who may want to try a go without the commitment, there is nothing worse then having to pay for something you do not want to do again!!!

Hi there!
I know this is sometime after the last post, but in answer to previous posts, whilst Central Galaxy do have some adult members, they are all long-term members who compete. Unfortunately for your lady Jasmine, the club does not do recreational sessions. There may be some recreational sessions at the Alan Higgs Centre, but they are not to do with the club, sorry

Funny but even paying for the year in advance and paying double the student fee at a university club, I'm still paying far less per hour than at my local sports centre which charged about £70 per term for 1 uncoached hour a week (there is a coach present but not paying any attention). Also why is there always judo or karate on at the same time in sports centres, it's very distracting.

Did turn up for a hol uni session a while back just as a kendo session was finishing, now that is impressively loud.

Hey Lucy, Kendo may be loud but its nothing compared to aerobics in fact its down right dangerous as the kids can`t hear the instructions.http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum/images/icons/icon8.gif
