Does anyone else think it would be a good idea if Helen reopened the old board, made a post with the new link, and closed it again?
I'm just a bit worried that there often seems to be more people on the old board than this one!

I would have to agree with you there Gingerheid. A lot of the old members don't appear to have joined - it may be that many haven't found the new board yet.

I'm here!!!! Hello again everybody - I eventually remembered to bring my BG card into the office with me so I'm back!
Gingerheid, I may be acting a little thick here, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean ... I can get the first bit about reopening the old board, but I'm afraid I got a little lost on the next bit ... "made a post with the new link, and closed it again"??
You're obviously right about there being more people on the old board than this one so it sounds like a good idea, but I'm not quite sure how it would work - would it still be open to the non-BG members that were on there then (which would defeat the object of having the new forum in the first place - although it would definitely be nice to see some of the old members back again)???
Put me straight please, me no understand! Me thicko!

I think what he meant to say was that Helen access the old board and place a "link to the new board" thread there so that people looking at the old board could click on the link to the new one.:)

Could a link be put up to this New Forum (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/memberforum) as I still have a theory that many people don't access the forum from the main page, but go directly to the old forum (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/ (http://www.british-gymnastics.org/forum/) from their favourites, and may not know there is a new forum. It took me a while to find the forum coz I just kept looking at my bookmark which was still set the old one- I couldn't work out what was going on! lol!
That was my theory, but I don't know how many other members have the same problem. I wonder if a link could be added at the top of that page...

I see now! :o
Yes, I do think that's an excellent idea too (now I understand it!) Could direct a lot of old users/browsers who may not have visited the forum for a while (and so haven't a clue what's been going on!) to where we are now.

It's just the both the times I've happened to go onto the old board there's been many more people on that than this one. Could have been two 'one offs', of course!
I noticed in the first few days we got posted missing on another sites' forum, by someone who hadn't found the new link. But I see the new link is there now...
Edit - DJC, I've just worked out where your quotes came from. This is where complete lack of interest in RG shows itself (and me) up!
