Hi Kel, I don`t know whether you have checked out the results yet for the nationals but I fell in the age group http://80.68.90.51/memberforum/images/icons/icon9.gif
However I managed to redeem myself by finishing 14th in the mens, which is cool, but it always helps when a few people fail to complete!!http://80.68.90.51/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gif

No real suprises at the weekend, in saying that they implemented the new judging rule in the 18+ and mens/ladies [I would imagine this willl filter down the age groups in next years qualifiers] which means that the kick outs must be at 12o`clock and must be straight to at least 1/4 past. So any piking or tucking in at 5 past is a three deduction, 10 past is a 2 1/4 past is a 1.

It appears that it wont be confined just to grade 1 as they started to implement it at the grade 2 in Cardiff, which is somewhat unfair as the season is already well underway.http://80.68.90.51/memberforum/images/icons/icon11.gif

As a result of the above, don`t worry about pushing new moves to increase tariff just work on getting as many staight moves in as you can and kicking out early out of shapes and holding line outs all the way into the bed.

Congratulations Pete.

thats kinda mean about all the changes. Bit rough if you don't have a twelve O clock kiick out, means a move would pretty much be a guaranteed 3 deduction.

My kick outs are generally ok, but am going to have to work on holding my line longer.

well done on mens pete!! they did start on the new rules in cardiff, a lot of people seemed to be getting sixes!! my kick outs were ok it was just the slight problem of not finishing 20 moves...................

Well done Pete - yeah i did check the results when i saw they were out :) but thought i'd let you announce how you did first - i'm great at saying things before i should :o
Shame about O18, but MAHOUSIVE WELL DONE with Mens :D you deffinitly made up for it then!!!
14th is crazily brilliant, especially looking at everyone who's in your group!!!
I heard about this new "stricter" marking system and was asking Peter Heames about it at our last grades.
My theory was that the system had to get tighter because "perfect" is getting better - which was about right lol.
He told me it's just focusing now a lot more on take-off and landing!!! (And surely everything in between too???)
Anyway, quite a lot of people said that they were apparently trying to introduce "If it doesn't line-out at 12, give it a 0.3" on Panel 1 at the grades - crazy if you ask me for grade 3s!!!
They obviously didn't stick to it though because otherwise there would have been lots of lower 7s and 6s, however the marks didn't seem to vary from 7.5 - 7.9, although the standard between everyone was not that similar!!!
But that's over and looking forward to October grades now!!!
Once again well done Pete :) - keep us informed how everything is going.

Try a double straight in the rig; a big move but cool and if you can manage that, a triple should be managable. Not something I`ve tried myself as I prefer to see where I`m going lol!!http://80.68.90.51/memberforum/images/icons/icon10.gif
