ok i have to admit when the new marking was introduced i was a bit sceptical, i didnt see the point and thought it would just upset people to have lower scores. however this week i was at a student competition in germany and the marks i received were low (6s) for what would have been mid 7s routines here. the girls who won were amazing. the scoring also seemed typical of what german judges normally would give. maye it will take a while to adapt to, but the if we aim for the standards that were on show at the weekend, more medals would come to the UK and Ireland at internationals? didnt totally disgarce myeslf though, did make synchro finals with my twin!

Heya, i'm not really into the tramp scene, but i agree with you, in my team i am really strict when it comes to competition try-outs and prep routines, because the harsher i mark the more work they "think" they have to do and thus the more rewarding the whole competition experience is. My youth team arn't world champions for nothing! LOL! So yeah! I agree! Point made! Peace x

In one of the areas I used to live in I think a lot of scores would have dropped if people had used the old judging system, the form score always seemed to be tainted by tariff.
It'll be interesting to see if people actually use the new rules in the long run (at locally organised competitions anyway). I suspect that a lot of judges will simply do things the way they always have.
