NDP Finals May 06 - Photography Permits

Just thought I'd put a reminder on the forum that the photography permit applications for the NDP finals in May have to be in my Friday 28th April at the latest.

The form is in the National Competition Handbook which is downloadable from the BGA website.

Clubs must issue the forms to interest parties associated with their club and nominate one person to be responsible for collecting the forms and money (the forms MUST be signed by a club official) and sending them in, together with an SAE to enable a validation form to be returned to them: this validation form must be presented in order for the nomiated representative to collect the permits nominated at Stoke.

No application form - no permit. No permit - no filming. You have been warned - and be assured: this is enforced.

Closing date was today - 47 of the 97 clubs competing haven't submitted their applications yet :( . I have had contact from a couple clubs to say they'll be here early next week and know of one club whose applications are in the post: these aren't included in the 47.

A couple of the clubs that did used the wrong form, some didn't send the fees and/or SAE and one club used the wrong forms, didn't send money and sent them to the wrong place .......... get your act together coaches/clubs: the National Competition Handbook is on this website and downloadable. Realistically if you have gymnasts who have qualified for the finals then you should have one: the application form for the Nationals is in it after all.

If you have a child competing (or are competing yourself) and haven't submitted an application get on to your clubs immediately or there are going to be many people looking like this :mad: .

What if you dont want to do any photography?! I have one gymnast doing tumbling so neither me or his parents will be taking photos or videoing.

There's no problem if no-one from your club wants to film - the problems we have (by "we" I mean the organisers/helpers etc) is when clubs have failed to get the forms completed by their parents (or whoever) and send them so that they can film. The abuse and hassle we have to put up with is awful: we now simply tell them to go back and complain to the club because that's where the problem lies but it doesn't stop people getting nasty and rude :mad: .

Clubs that only have tumblers in quite often don't wish to photograph so it's to be expected - unfortunately the same doesn't apply to acro and there are some very large acro clubs that haven't got their permit applications in yet :eek: .

I have the same problem as I organise everything for our club; competition entries, ordering new leotards & tracksuits, display events including hotels, caoches costumes, etc.
I know how it feels when peole miss deadlines. So I hope everything works out.

Anita if I email you my address would you be an absolute star and send me over the results from the finals. My club had a few in it this year but tumbling and acro so i'd be interested to see the scores. hope thats ok? x

Had a better idea re: the results - I've uploaded them onto my Regional TC website! It was also a good excuse to update it generally ........ the address is www.geocities.com/sesatc (http://www.geocities.com/sesatc).

Both tumbling and acro results are there, in Word format.

Thanks so much Anita. Really pleased to see two girls in my club get through to tumble and one trio. I'm confused with how it works though. Isn't there more than 8 in the competition bu thtne 8 get through to the final competition? x
