"The competition within the GBR team - that’s been one of my biggest challenges"

Max Whitlock has already gone down in gymnastics history and he’s only 20 years old. At last year’s Olympics Max stunned the British public by taking double bronze, in the team event and on pommel. With such achievements accomplished in London there could have been an opportunity this year for Max to rest and reap the rewards of his new found sporting fame but this was never in his plan. For him the Olympics were simply a springboard, and he was determined to work hard so that 2013 was even better.

At the end of what has been another ground-breaking year that has seen him take him to British all-around glory, European all-around silver, floor gold and pommel bronze and World Championship pommel silver, the Gymnast E-zine caught up with Max to find out what is behind the on-going success and why competition within the GBR squad has pushed him to another level.
