“The support I have received from the British Gymnastics community has been fantastic and really helped spur me on to my successes in 2009. To be nominated for BBC Sports Personality caps a great year for me personally and I think also reflects the fact that British Gymnasts across all disciplines are grabbing the attention of the public. Beth’s 2009 could hardly have been more successful having taken Floor and Bars Gold at the European Championships, World University Games and Glasgow Grand Prix and then dramatically taking the World Floor Championships at the o2 in London.
