Trampolining adds to the growing list of Olympic sports featured at the Championships, which already includes Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming and Hockey. Six thousand elite university-aged athletes will attend the BUCS Championships to compete across 26 sports and utilize the international standard sporting facilities the Yorkshire region has to offer.
Karen Rothery, BUCS Chief Executive said: "The addition of
Trampolining and Indoor Archery to the BUCS Championships programme is
a hugely positive step and illustrates our desire to continue
developing the scope of the event to include as many students and
sporting disciplines as possible.
The BUCS Championships is supported by Yorkshire Forward and the
Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire and the Humber. It will be a
fantastic opportunity for the region to showcase what it has to offer
to the 400 supporting volunteers, 6,000 participating athletes and many
supporters. |
