British Gymnastics is delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Allen, as its next Chief Executive Officer. Jane, who has been the CEO for Gymnastics Australia since 1997, will commence in her new position at Lilleshall on 12th April 2010.
In appointing Jane Allen, the Board of British Gymnastics are confident they have found an exceptional individual, who not only has experience of the development of World Class gymnasts and a true understanding of the complexities within the many disciplines of the sport, but also someone with appropriate and effective Executive Director experience at CEO level.
Jane Allen has a unique skill set and proven performance in her former role, where she was responsible for:-
· Managing all aspects Gymnastics Australia as a National Governing
Body, including the development and implementation of Corporate
Governance, Vision, Strategy and Business Planning.
· Overseeing the National High Performance Plans for all Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines.
· Managed International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) liaison during
the 2000 Olympic Games and of the build up and delivery of a “Home
Olympics” and the pressure involved in preparing the Team to perform to
the expectations of the nation.
· Representation on the FIG Council (2004-2008) and FIG Media &
Marketing Commission (2008-2009). Represented Australia at FIG
Congresses (1998-2008).
· Representing Australia as Head of Delegation for Australian teams from 1999-2009.
· Australian Olympic Committee and Australian Commonwealth Games Association liaison and annual grant submissions.
· Major International events and funding submissions to Federal,
State and Local Governments, including sponsorship submissions, media
and promotional activity.
In short, exactly the skills and experience necessary to enable Jane to
hit the floor running in the British Gymnastics Chief Executive role,
which we believe is mission critical for British Gymnastics in
delivering outstanding performance at the 2012 Olympic Games, for the
financial sustainability of the sport post 2012 and to meet the
on-going requirements of the Government mandate for grass roots
development of the sport. Furthermore, this appointment receives the
full support of UK Sport and Sport England, our major funding partners.
