The National strategy for Trampoline Gymnastics has been developed in partnership by British Gymnastics, the National Trampoline Technical Committee, British Gymnastics England and the World Class Programme. The aim of the Strategy is to provide the best possible programme to support the development of elite trampolinists below the World Class Programme. The strategy includes National and a Super-Regional Programmes: National Programme • Two National Development Coaches (Sue Lawton & Jack Kelly) will run the National Programme, oversee and contribute to the Super-Regional programme and to the mentoring/development of three England Development Coaches • A small British National Development Squad of 12-15 gymnasts will be selected. • Three National two day themed clinics/squad sessions will be delivered by the National Development Coaches assisted by the England Development Coaches. The first day will be a themed British Gymnastics England National coaching clinic with the focus on the development of aspiring World Class Coaches. The clinic will be open to English coaches who meet set criteria. The second day will be a British Development Squad session and will be focused on the development of the squad gymnasts and their coaches. • A small number of International competitions will be identified for gymnasts of this level. Details of these events and the selection process will be published in due course. Super-Regional Programme • Three England Development Coaches will be identified to contribute to the National/Super-Regional Programmes. They will receive support and mentoring opportunities. • Three themed Super-Regional clinics will be organised per year in three locations. These will be hosted by the England Development Coaches. Aspiring High Performance Coaches will be invited to attend based on set criteria. Staffing & Delivery: National Development Coaches: Two National Development Coaches (Sue Lawton & Jack Kelly) have been identified to work as a team to develop the pathway leading to the World Class Programmes and support the progress of coaches and gymnasts aspiring to High Performance/World Class Performance. The roles of the National Development Coaches will be as follows: • To provide input and advice about the British National Development Programme • Run three themed National Clinic/Squads per year • Support the England Development Coaches to deliver three themed Regional Clinics/squads per year • Mentor the three England Development Coaches England Development Coaches: Three National Development Coaches will be identified to: • To provide input and advice about the British National Development Programme • Attend the three themed National Clinic/Squads per year, supporting the National Development Coaches • Deliver three themed Regional Clinics/squads per year • Attend mentoring sessions with the National Development Coaches • Take part in an individual Programme of CPD including the opportunity for an International Placement
