Subscirbers.
“I am a subscriber to BGTV – what happens with my account?”

service, and will I get a refund for the time the channel was off-line?"
All current BGTV subscribers will have the amount of time the
channel was off-line plus the amount of time the channel is
free-to-watch added to their account. Your account expiry date will be
changed accordingly.
“How can I cancel my subscription?”
Technical.
About Broadband TV: Internet TV requires a broadband internet connection. The more bandwidth you have, the smoother the videos will playback. “I have a 1Mb broadband connection – why is it still slow?” If your broadband connection bandwidth is more than 500kb/sec, the video quality will be good. You may find that you are paying for a broadband package that has an ‘up to 1Mb connection’ - it is possible that many houses may share your bandwidth. This will reduce your connection speed and impair video playback. “How can I send comments or suggestions to BGTV?” Send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - we may not always be able to reply to your email directly but we will read it and take action as necessary. “I cannot get the player to load properly” BGTV requires a ‘Flash’ player to be installed on your computer, click here. “The picture is jerky and keeps stopping / starting, the full screen view is fuzzy” A low bandwidth will cause low quality picture, and ‘buffering’ problems (the picture will keep freezing as the next chunk downloads). This is not a problem with the system it is a problem with the bandwidth of your internet connection. Try closing any other programs that are accessing the internet on your computer. This will free up computer resources and bandwidth. These could include Instant messaging or music / film download programs. You could also try closing down other applications that may be running on your computer. This may help to free up some extra resources. If the picture keeps freezing you could consider upgrading your broadband package to one with a greater bandwidth (500kb/sec should be good enough to view the content successfully) If you use a wireless network, you may find parts of your house have bad reception, so take time to find where the best signal is and watch BGTV from there. You will probably find that the signal strength of the wireless network increases as you move closer to the transmitter. “How do I change the player size?” Click on the maximise button just underneath the video picture. “Can I view BGTV on my television?” If you have a TV card in your computer you should be able to connect this into the back of your TV. Alternatively if you have a newer TV you may be able to connect it to your computer via a monitor cable. In either case you will need to change the TV to the relevant input and you may have to plug speakers into your computer to hear the sound. BGTV programs are also available on DVD.
