Equality of Opportunity
British Gymnastics is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and recognises that all BG staff and job applicants are entitled to be treated fairly regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, parental or marital status, disability, religion, colour, race, ethnic or national origins, or socio/economic background.

To help monitor and develop our Equality policy, please complete our monitoring form and attach it with your application. All information will be kept strictly confidential in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will only be used for monitoring purposes.

CRB Code of Practice
Any applications for posts working either directly or indirectly with children and/or vulnerable adults are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants will therefore be required to disclose any cautions, reprimands, final warnings and convictions, even those that are considered ‘spent’, as part of the application process and will be required to complete a CRB disclosure before an appointment is confirmed. British Gymnastics will not discriminate unfairly against applicants with a criminal record and having a criminal record will not necessarily bar an individual from working for British Gymnastics.

Sponsorship and Endorsement of Migrant Workers
In order to control immigration, if a non EU national (known as a migrant worker) wants to live/work in the UK they must apply to the UK Border Agency for a working visa under the new Points Based System - for further details refer to www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

The Points Based System exists to restrict the number and type of migrant workers into the UK to those that are highly skilled or in categories where there is deemed to be a skills shortage. One of these categories is Sport, where highly skilled workers can apply to work in the UK subject to sponsorship by their UK employer (this will usually be a Club) and endorsement by the Governing Body for that sport.

On reviewing both the requirements of the sport and the code of practice issued by the UK Border Agency, BG have gained approval from the Home Office to endorse High Performance Coaches - see Endorsement Requirements document.

For all endorsement enquiries / applications please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please be advised that applications can take from 4 to 6 weeks to process from receipt of the necessary paperwork.
