New for 2012/2013:

Interim Membership for Coaches
The new BG Interim Membership for both Silver and Gold members is specific to Coaching and is to enable coaches returning from University or College to coach for the summer holiday period. This is a 12-week membership, from July 1st, so it will cover the to July, August and September period. The Interim membership will not enable competition entry, and so cannot be used by gymnasts to cover any competitions over the summer.  Interim membership is completed via Membership Services on 0845 129 7129 ext. 2395. The application needs to be by phone to enable us to check that you have the relevant qualification in place, hold a current CRB* and take payment to start your membership without delay. You will also need to let us know which club/clubs you will be coaching at for the holiday period.

* Please note that from 1st December 2012 CRB will become DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).  The service they provide remains unchanged.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I am an Assistant Coach and am looking to do my Level 2 qualification.  Do I need to wait until the new Membership year?
A. No – you can upgrade your membership from Silver to Gold at any time during the membership year.

Q. I am a Silver member and I am going to do my Level 2 qualification.  Do I need to upgrade to Gold before the course?
A. No – however by becoming a Gold member you will receive a discount on the cost of the course that is more than the upgrade fee, so it is well worth doing, and means that you can get going as soon as you have achieved the qualification.

Q. If I decide not to continue with coaching part way through the year can I have a refund?
A. Unfortunately our memberships are for a full 12 months and we do not operate a refund policy.

Q. I have been out of the sport for some time, am I considered to be a new member?
A. Members who have been out of the sport for a full membership year are considered to be a new member.  If you have been out of the sport for less than a full membership year, your membership will be treated as continuous and the full annual fee will be payable.

Q. I regularly coach at two different gymnastics clubs.  Do I need to be a BG member at both clubs?
A. Provided both clubs are British Gymnastics affiliated clubs you only need one BG membership to coach as many classes as you want.
