To thank the British gymnastics community for their support during the 2012 Olympics, Team GB’s gymnasts are set to attend GymFusion events across the UK, to meet and greet fans who helped motivate and inspire our team to historic results in London.

The overwhelming support of the British public was one of the key factors in a remarkable summer that saw Team GB exceed all expectations and British gymnasts claim sensational results across all disciplines and of course a medal haul of men’s  team bronze and three individual medals for Beth Tweddle, Louis Smith and Max Whitlock.

For the gymnasts, the opportunity to meet fans and share the Olympic journey is a hugely significant and important part of the Olympic experience, as Beth Tweddle who will be attending GymFusion Northern Ireland explains:

“The support and encouragement from the British gymnastics community has always been incredible and this year more than ever. The whole of the UK embraced Team GB and I know that for every member of the gymnastics team the fans made a massive difference. To know that so many people are behind you is a great feeling and the fact that we were so successful in London demonstrates what support can do. I am really looking forward to attending GymFusion in Northern Ireland, to promote the brilliant Gymnastics for All programme, and of course to meet the best fans in the world.”

Team GB gymnasts will be visiting GymFusion events in the East Midlands, North, and Northern Ireland in 2012 with more scheduled throughout 2013.

GymFusion is British Gymnastics National Festivals Programme, now just into its second year, it has seen over 2000 performers take part in the non-competitive, show style festivals. Encompassing the ethos of Gymnastics For All, GymFusion isn’t a competition but a collaboration and aims to give participants the opportunity to display their skills and talents as a team in a fun and friendly environment.
