On the 17th and 18th November the 2012 Coupe Avenir took place in Malmedy (BEL). Britain were represented in both the women's artistic junior and espoir categories and were extremely successful with the GB team of (top row – left to right espoirs) Catherine Lyons, Caitlin Tsang, Rhyannon Jones (bottom row – left to right juniors) Emily Crowe, Claudia Fragapane and Georgina Hockenhull returning home with a total of 14 medals.
Day one saw the team and all-around individual finals taking place. Both the espoir and junior teams comfortably won their categories with outstanding performances from all of the gymnasts. GB’s Georgina Hockenhull took the junior all-around title, with teammates Emily Crowe and Claudia Fragapane completing the GB top three in second and third. The Espoir category was once again dominated by the GB girls with Caitlin Tsang taking the title ahead of Rhyannon Jones in second and Catherine Lyons in third.
On the apparatus finals day it was Junior Georgina Hockenhull who stole the show taking the bars, beam and floor titles with teammates Claudia Fragapane taking the gold on vault, Emily Crowe the bronze on beam and Espoir Rynannon Jones the silver on floor.
