After their superhuman efforts at last summer’s Olympic Games our superhero British gymnasts once again return to the gymnastics amphitheatre for the 2013 Men’s and Women’s British Championships at Echo Arena Liverpool, March 22-24th.

To celebrate the achievements of reigning senior champions, Liverpool locals Daniel Purvis and Rebecca Tunney, British Gymnastics have commissioned unique artwork to immortalise them as the true superheroes they have become.

The London 2012 Olympic Games proved to be an historic time for British Gymnastics. Our Olympians excelled, capturing the nation’s attention and proving the outstanding talent of the gymnasts in this country. Those lucky enough to witness the action live will not only have been mesmerised by the performance but also blown away, as were the gymnasts, by the power of the home support.

Not only will you get to see our senior heroes but the stars of the future will also be battling out to be crowned number one. The women’s categories include the Espoirs (12/13 years) and the juniors (14/15 years) and in the men’s it’s the Under 16’s and Under 18’s.

No doubt our Olympic heroes have achieved their pledge to ‘inspire a generation’ and this promises to continue into the next Olympic cycle as our best gymnasts continue to shine. Reigning champions Dan Purvis and Rebecca Tunney are already excited to be back battling to defend their crowns-

Southport's Dan Purvis: 'The British Championship in 2012 was an amazing event, the arena is world class and the crowds hugely supportive which built us up very nicely for the Olympics – I can’t wait to be back again in 2013.'

City of Liverpool’s Rebecca Tunney: 'Winning the senior British title is one of the best moments of my career and to do it in Liverpool a very special moment for me. Following the Games I am now living in the city and so hope this year the crowd can give the same kind of support, and I can be up there in contention again.'

To help replicate the electric atmosphere that swept through 2012 we are delighted to offer affiliated clubs and leisure centres a significant ticket discount for a group of 20 people or more, providing the opportunity to come along and support our gymnasts and see the very best artistic gymnastics.

The group discount applies to the showpiece events, the senior men’s and women’s all-around competition on Saturday 23rd, where group tickets begin at just £12.50 per person for the whole day’s action and likewise on ‘super Sunday’ when  tickets for the highly coveted apparatus finals are priced at just £15 per person as part of a group booking.
