On the 24^th February the 2013 Welsh men’s and women’s artistic championships were held at Sport Wales National Centre.

In the senior women’s competition Park Wrekin’s Georgina Hockenhull was crowned the new all-around champion. The first year senior won both the open and closed championships with an overall score of 52.80. Team mates Raer Theaker and Lizzie Beddoe both from Cardiff finished in 2nd and 3rd place.

In the men’s event it was a clean sweep for Barry YMCA Gymnast Clinton Purnell. The 23 year-old took six apparatus titles as well as the all-around gold, scoring 84.80 and retaining his title from last year’s competition. He was followed by Loughborough’s Harry Owen in 2nd and team mate Iwan Mepham in 3rd.
