After weeks of hard work and outstanding performances, gymnastic legend, Beth Tweddle MBE has made it to the final of the popular ITV1 show Dancing on Ice. Partnered with professional skater Dan Whiston, Beth has been wowing the audience and judges alike with spectacular routines every weekend and has now made it to the final this Sunday evening at 7pm.
Beth is now one of three contestants left in the competition and the only female, battling against Eastenders actor Matt Lapinskas and Olympic gold medal winning boxer Luke Campbell.
Speaking just before the semi-final Beth told us how she has enjoyed her time on the ice and has been amazed by the amount of support from her gymnastics fans.
"Dancing on ice has been an amazing experience all I do is laugh, it’s been so much fun. Mentally it’s quite tough at times preparing for the live show but my partner Dan has been incredible. The performance aspect has been the hardest and of course pleasing Jason! Going into it my biggest fear was being voted out the first week, so to make it so far is amazing.
The support of the public has been great, someone asked me the other day if I was ‘that skater off the telly’ not the gymnast which was funny. The support of the gymnastics fans throughout my career has always been very special and to have it continue for Dancing on Ice is unbelievable - so keep it up!
