Strengthening the Future of Gymnastics
What is it?
Aspire to Shine is a unique and exciting development opportunity for future Club Leaders in our sport. Here at British Gymnastics we have recognised that there are number of people with the desire to set up their own gymnastics club, or support their current club to expand and grow. This process can seem daunting and unachievable so by running Aspire to Shine we hope to support a group of people turn their visions and aspirations into reality.
The residential is open for individuals aged between 18 and 25 years old and has been specifically designed to introduce attendees of this age group to the opportunities available within gymnastics and give them the knowledge and skills to pursue a career within the sport. The four day event will include sessions on how to set up and manage a new club, how to introduce new Gymnastic for All ideas into clubs, how to establish satellite venues, as well as providing a networking opportunity to make essential gymnastics connections. There will be an opportunity to meet influential staff at British Gymnastics and the chance to gain an understanding of the Governing Body and the support we provide. In short, the attendees will be given top level training to support them to achieve their aspirations.
Aspire to Shine will be held at Lilleshall National sport centre, the home of British Gymnastics, from the evening of Monday 8th - Thursday 11th August. The sessions will be tutored by BG staff and industry experts who have the greatest knowledge of their working area, who can inspire and motivate the attendees with current information to support their needs.
