Courses and Qualifications
We are proud to operate Teachers courses for Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics across a number of levels.

Gymnastics
These courses offer a broad overview of the family of gymnastics, with content covering the fundamentals of movement through gymnastics. You can start with the Introductory Level (where no previous experience is required) or, depending on your experience/knowledge and background in gymnastics, begin with the Intermediate Level (where some gymnastics background is required). Within the Intermediate Level, teachers can choose between courses focussing on either primary or secondary sector content. From here, teachers can enhance their knowledge by attending an Advanced Level.

Trampoline Gymnastics
Two courses are available, Part 1 and Part 2. All teachers must complete Part 1 before progressing to Part 2 if required. View pdf Teachers Trampoline Awards (947 KB) guide.

To view eligibility for our teachers courses, please use our Find a Course and click on the relevant course.

"Safe Practice in Physical Education and School Sport", (2012 Edition), states that "An appropriate BG coaching award is strongly advised for staff wishing to offer formal gymnastics in primary or secondary schools."

p school teachers
We offer a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for teachers, specifically for use in a school setting. Our education programme for teachers is very popular, with 290+ courses running annually. We have a network of fully trained and approved tutors, and upon successful completion of the course, teachers receive certification from us.

Course content is applied to the provision of gymnastics during curriculum and extra-curricular learning, and delivered to ensure relevance to the changing needs of the National Curriculum.

The relationship between our coaches/clubs and teachers/schools is one that will always be important. Supporting initiatives exist to allow this relationship to develop, and for club to school links to grow and evolve.
