Head of GfA
The Head of General gymnastics must be an enthusiastic, motivating & reliable coach who will lead a friendly coaching team and is committed to high standards of delivery.

You will hold a Level 2 / 3 General Gymnastics qualification and have experience of coaching at this level. Additional qualifications would be welcome.

This is a full time position of 30+ hours per week. The position would suit a coach wishing to progress their coaching career and to take on senior responsibility.

Coaching hours:
Monday 4.00 - 8.00pm
Tuesday 4.00 – 8.00pm
Wednesday 4.00 – 7.30pm
Thursday 4.00 – 8.30pm
Friday 4.00 – 7.30pm
Saturday 8.30am – 2.00pm

Flexibility for additional day time coaching hours.

The role includes planning & organising the club’s recreational gymnastics programme, holiday activities (Gym in the Summer), mentoring and supervising senior, assistant coaches and trainees plus administration associated with the role. The H of GG will consult with the Operations Director and Office Manager in relation to waiting list.

The Head of General gymnastics must have good people and communication skills and work well within a team following the clubs ethos to support and encourage the personal development of coaches.

Ideal Candidates should hold:
- Minimum BG Level 2/3 recognised BG General Gymnastics Qualification (Certificates)
- British Gymnastics recognised DBS / Fire Marshall Certificate from Training Course / Children Safeguarding Certificate / First aid Certificate.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of General Gymnastics including Session Planning, coaches mentoring, competition programming.
- Have basic computer skills Word & Excel
- Hold a full driving licence

Duties Include:
- Reporting to the L&DGC Director of Coaching and Club Directors
- Management of an already established GfA Programme
- Committed to continuing personal and GfA Coaches development as available through BG education programme and supported by L&DGC
- Mentoring coaches to enhance their knowledge and assist with their CPD (Continuous Personal Development) including arranging regular staff appraisal and specific coaching clinics and workshops as necessary
- Identify and spot new talent from the general gymnastics/recreational members to be highlighted to the head coaches from WAG, MAG, TG whom will organise trial sessions for the development of L&DGC Squad Structure
- Responsible to producing and organising the relevant training programmes and competition plans for all General Gymnastics member across the different levels.
- Organise all necessary information necessary for the administration of tasks including General Gymnastics competition entries, travelling arrangements to events and competitions for gymnasts and their families.
- Maintaining a good communication system in place with all GfA gymnasts’ parents including monitoring tools to identify individual gymnast’s progress and development within their groups so to move them into the appropriate groups and levels.
- Assisting with in-house competitions and displays across the disciplines as required by the Club Directors.

Additional Duties:
Maintain an annual competition schedule for all GfA events and produce a regular report including all competition results to the Head Coach and Directors of L&DGC.
The HoGG will be responsible for all GfA competition entries (including County Development Groups) and will have to provide all entry details to the Office Manager not later than 2 weeks before the competition closing dates for entry. Entries will not be accepted after the deadline unless agreed by the Directors.

The HoGG will be responsible to provide all necessary information to the administration team in relation to any individual gymnasts class and Badge certificates.
