Scottish Gymnastics Wellbeing & Protection 2

This training is mandatory for all those working with children and young people in a club registered with Scottish Gymnastics.

 1.    Online module 1 (through Sportscotland Brightspace - not absorb) (approx 30-45 minutes)

This will give you a refresher course in theory, knowledge and practice that underpins child wellbeing & protection in gymnastics.

You will receive an email 7 days prior to your course date from d2lsupport@learninginsport.brightspace.com. This email may be found in your junk mail.  You will have a username in the email, and you will need to set up a password to use the online learning platform.  The online module is a pre-requisite to attending the Zoom course.  Failure to complete by the deadline may result in you being removed from the zoom session.  You will receive the link for the online module, the week prior to the zoom session.

Please note by enrolling you are agreeing to complete the online module 1 in advance of the zoom meeting. The tutor will have access to Brightspace and will see if you have completed the online module prior to the zoom tutor delivery. 

2.    Zoom tutor delivery (2 hour workshop)

This will enable candidates to:

• Build on learning gained in module 1
  • Duty of care
  • Applying welfare
  • Risk Management
  • Culture
  • Abuse recap
  • Reporting concerns

• Understand your Roles and Responsibilities in your Gymnastics Club
  • Recruitment & PVG
  • Role of the Safeguarding Officer
  • Reporting concerns
  • Scottish Gymnastics policies and procedures
  • Investigations and disciplinaries

• Scenarios

Candidates must complete both the online module and the zoom tutor delivery to gain their qualification.  If you do not complete the online module and we need to continually contact you to remind you to complete this, then an administration fee of £5 will be incurred.

The zoom link will be sent to you 48 hours prior to the delivery date.

3.    Online post workshop feedback

The link will be given to you by the tutor

• The minimum age to register on this course is 18
• This award is valid for 3 years from date of attendance
