Men's Artistic Level 1 Add On

This course will develop your pre-existing knowledge of artistic gymnastics and enable you to support participants in a range of new discipline specific skills for Men's Artistic gymnastics.

Men's Artistic gymnastics is an impressive discipline to coach. Participants perform amazing routines made up of dynamic strength, flexibility, and balance skills. Your role is to support and develop these skills for participants to enjoy.

After completion of this course you will be able to assist in the safe coaching and development of the skills covered within the syllabus. 

To complete this course, you will already hold a UKCC Level 1 Award or equivalent, in Women's Artistic, Men's Artistic or General Gymnastics. The course covers apparatus that is specialist to Men's Artistic gymnastics.

Who is this Aimed at:

Level 1 Artistic or General Gymnastics coaches who wish to deliver Men's Artistic gymnastics.

What To Expect:

A practical course that builds on knowledge gained at Level 1.

Apparatus covered:

  • P-Bars
  • Rings
  • Pommel horse

This is a practical course.

Duration:

4 hours

You are required to bring 2 participants to this course.

No mentor is required.

This is an attendance only course.  There is no formal assessment.

After attending this course, you will be accredited to coach the skills on the syllabus.

Men's Artistic Add-on Module - £52 for BG members (£88 for non-BG members)

Pre Requisites:

•    MAG Level 1 UKCC Level 1 Assistant Coach
•    MAG Level 1 UKCC Level Award in Coaching Gymnastics
•    WAG Level 1 UKCC Level 1 Assistant Coach
•    WAG Level 1 UKCC Level Award in Coaching Gymnastics
•    GG Level 1 UKCC Level 1 Assistant Coach
•    GG Level 1 UKCC Level Award in Coaching Gymnastics

Pommel Horse:

  • Front, rear, cross and straddle support positions
  • Single leg pendulum swings (½ pendulum leg in, leg out)
  • Development of double leg circles on the floor and mushroom trainer

 

Rings:

  • Inverted hang
  • Extended back hang
  • Swing in hang
  • Layout to swing from inverted hang
  • Tucked backwards somersault dismount

 

Parallel Bars:

  • Swinging in support
  • Swinging in upper arms
  • Swinging in hang (bent legs)
  • Swing in piked hang (float swing)
  • Front vault dismount
  • Flank vault dismount
  • Underswing from support on end of bars

Assessment Method: This is an attendance only course.

How Long Until I Am Fully Qualified: Certificate of attendance will be made available after the course.
