As you may or may not be aware UK Safer Internet Centre run an annual initiative to raise awareness of using social media safely. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to promote across our clubs and educate safe use by all. The initiative has a great deal of resources for schools, parents and other organisations.
British Gymnastics would like to support the initiative, to promote awareness around the subject to increase knowledge and skills in using social media in an appropriate manner. Our professional use and educating everyone in the use of social media is vital to ensure we are effectively safeguarding our children.
Any feedback from the initiative would be greatly received and should you require any support or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Safeguarding Officers (South- Catherine Wall firstname.lastname@example.org, North- Helen Murphy email@example.com, East- firstname.lastname@example.org or the Safeguarding Team email@example.com)
(If your club does promote, please don’t forget to Tweet #SID2018 or #saferinternetday and tag BG which is @BGCommunity).
