Satellite Clubs aim to provide a stepping-stone from school curriculum gymnastics to club gymnastics, with a much greater number of children able to access the opportunity to participate. They can be held in any facility, such as a school or community centre, and focus on the development of the participants for progression to the gymnastics club.
Satellite Clubs aim to provide additional opportunities for people to participate in gymnastics. They can be used as a stepping-stone from school curriculum gymnastics to club gymnastics, or allow a club to increase capacity by utilising additional facilities. Satellite clubs can be set up in any facility i.e. school or community centre, and can deliver any gymnastics discipline or activity.
There are several Gymnastic Networks established in the region. The aims of the networks are to bring together clubs / organisations/ people in the local area who are involved in gymnastics to encourage everyone to work together to develop gymnastics in their area. This could be through developing a local festival or competition, sharing facilities or coaches or applying for funding.

BG Funding Newsletter

Sport England Small Grants
Small Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations to help more young people (aged 14+) and adults take part and keep a sporting habit for life. This stream can fund things such as equipment, coaching courses and marketing / promotion. For further information and an application form click here.
Sportivate is a funding program aimed at getting 14-25 year olds doing more sport. Funding is available to support the delivery of a 6-8 week block of activity to help get new sessions established. The funding can cover things such as facility hire, coaches' fees, coaching courses and promotion. If you're thinking of starting sessions such as freestyle, trampolining or teamgym for this age group then Sportivate is the ideal program to get you started. West Yorkshire Coach and Leader Bursary Scheme – Inclusive Coaching Stream
West Yorkshire Sport has launched a coach and leader bursary scheme to support coaches attend NGB disability modules. You can apply for up to 50% of the cost of the course. They also have funding to support people with a disability gain a level 1 or level 2 coaching qualification and will fund up to 75% of the cost. Please click here for more details.
