Establishment of the Foundation

The British Gymnastics Foundation achieved Charity registration on 7th July 2014. It was founded to provide considerable benefit for the public; ensuring that communities and individuals are positively impacted by its gymnastics based activities. In particular, the British Gymnastics Foundation will strive to help people reach their full potential; providing opportunities to improve people’s lives and strengthen communities with the positive influence of sport.

British Gymnastics has provided the British Gymnastics Foundation with a substantial support package to ensure that the charity gets off to the strongest possible start; providing stability for the charity to grow and develop quality projects, programmes and other activities in order to achieve maximum benefit for good causes.

About Our Work

The British Gymnastics Foundation will be working closely in partnership with British Gymnastics, to add value in the following three focus areas initially:
  • Disability gymnastics;
  • Gymnastics in schools; and
  • Providing assistance to those experiencing hardship who wish to sustain their participation in gymnastics.

Our first programme planned for launch early next year will be our Hardship Grants Programme; full details and eligibility criteria for the programme will be available on our website early next year.
