There are statutes and regulations which outline for the employer how their employees should be treated within the workplace.
It is important therefore for employers to understand employment law to create the best working environment possible.
The first session is a general employment focused seminar with add-ons, and will cover issues to be aware of regarding:
Recruitment needs to be carefully planned in order to attract the right type of applicant. Ultimately, this increases the chances of making a suitable selection and appointment. “The training came at a good time for me as my club was looking to refresh staff contracts. The session was incredibly informative and helped us categorise our club workforce into ‘volunteers’, ‘workers’ and ‘employees’ and understand the differences between their agreements and contracts. It was very helpful having representatives from both DAS Law and British Gymnastics present as this enabled all questions raised to be answered. I left with lots of notes, useful resources and lots of answers to take back and share with our board of trustees. The training has helped us shape our contracts and we are looking forward to the next event. We have also used the DAS Law helpline a couple of times since to ask a few questions and the help has always been clear and quick. I would highly recommend others who are involved in running gymnastics clubs attend these events and upskill their business training.” - Matte Hart, Head Coach, 1066 Gymnastics
“I found the workshop both informative and reassuring. The sport continues to grow at such a rapid pace that the way I used to run my club is no longer practical or viable. An upgrade in knowledge and standards is vital and I am very happy that British Gymnastics are initiating that with clubs. I will be attending the future ones, so thank you” - Aisha Walters, Owner, Benchmark Gymnastics
