Who is this for?
One of 12 Disability Hub Clubs nationally, Richmond Gymnastics Association are experienced in delivering Disability Gymnastics and keen to share some of our ideas about how we deliver our sessions (both specific disability sessions and inclusive mainstream sessions). The clinic is a great opportunity for coaches and volunteers of all levels to share ideas about coaching disabled participants, and hear from qualified specialists giving talks and demonstrations on the day. You do not need to have any experience in teaching participants with disabilities to attend.
What do I need to bring?
Light Refreshments such as Tea, Coffee and biscuits will be available all day. There will also be a café on site where you can purchase food if you would like to. Please feel free to bring your own food, we have a fridge to store any food in if needed. Lunch will not be provided by Richmond.
There will be practical workshops available so please wear kit which is safe to coach in. i:e tracksuit, no jewellery etc

Focussing on competitive Acro disabilities opportunities and dealing with behavioural issues within GFA classes.

Connecting the Spectrum
Claire Cason – Physio workshop
Qualified physio covering physical deficits within common disabilities such as Down syndrome and the management of these within gymnastics

Using role play and critical discussions to explore the importance of counselling skills when working with gymnasts with disabilities.
