Huge congratulations to Georgia-Mae Fenton from East London Gymnastics Club for an exceptionally succesful competition as part of the England Women's Artistic Team at the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia.
In the Team competition, Georgia-Mae competed on Bars and Beam, to assist the England team in gaining the Silver Medal. Georgia-Mae's exceptional Bars routine qualified her in 1st position for the Bars final.
With 5.90 for difficulty (joint highest difficulty score), Georgia-Mae needed to ensure that her execution was of a high standard. The standard of her routine was exceptional, scoring 8.70 for execution and an overall score of 14.600 winning her the Gold medal, 0.400 marks ahead of Brittany Rogers, from Canada in the Silver Medal position.
The success was even sweeter because it was Georgia-Mae's mum's birthday on the day of the finals, so it was a double celebration.
Huge congratulations to Georgia-Mae, her coach Lorraine and the rest of the England Team.
