Handstands are a fundamental skill throughout gymnastics, whether at a recreational or elite level. They are used and developed throughout the different disciplines but the basic requirements are the same.
It’s easy to revert to the same exercises over again – and some exercises don’t work well with some gymnasts! This clinic will aim to re-energise focus on handstands, looking at a variety of exercises to develop the basic handstand.
Later in the session work will progress to the use of the handstand across the other apparatus and disciplines and ways to prepare for these developments.
Who should attend?
